I just got this yesterday and so far I'm pleased with the product. I'm a youth minister and I take minors on different trips so I need scans of things like insurance cards and I was tried of using our photocopier in the office which is nowhere near our youth room. This seemed like a good option. It's fairly inexpensive and you do get what you pay for, but once it's set up the scans are clear and I'm able to read the information on the cards. There are two quirks you need to keep in mind. 1) You need to calibrate this in order to get a clear picture, but there is no "calibrate" button in the program that comes with the device. In Windows 10 you have to go into the control panel settings for printers and scanners. From there click on "DocketPORT 667", Manage, Scanner Properties, Properties, Advanced (tab), and then you can see the "Calibrate" button. They do mention this on the website, but it's in the FAQ's and you have to scroll down past the "Set-up" section. Also, the list of steps is not completely accurate, though that is pretty typical in my experience. 2) If you're going to use this to scan ID cards and such you're better off using the scanner program that comes with Windows 10. I know people gripe about W10, but the provided software for the device doesn't have an ID card setting and there is no custom size setting. All the size settings are for envelops and post cards and when you scan you end up with a lot of stuff that you have to crop later. If you use the W10 program it will just scan the card and nothing else. However, you do have to feed it horizontally. In conclusion if you're willing to play with it a little bit this can be a good scanner for things like envelops and ID cards. If you're wanting something for high quality pictures and works straight out of the box...you'll probably want to look elsewhere. It works well for what I need it to do which is make copies of id when there is not a copy machine available.I like that it is small and portable and does not need batteries or an additional power source.I am slightly confused by the button on top however as nothing has ever happened when I pressed it. Instead the scanner just works when i stick something in it.The scanner works great. The reason that I couldn't give it 5 stars is that the scanner didn't have the calibration sheets with it. Other then that it has performed well.I bought it reading description that it is compatible with windows xp professional BUT NOT!! DISAPPOINTED!!It stop working in the less than 2 months ?I ordered this to go with my computer with windows 7. It is only compatible with the 32 bit version, not the 64 bit, which is not specified.Have a 665 in service and it works great. Purchased two 667s and they both keep having problems (loss of power or connection issue messsage). All DOcketports are on the same make computers, same op systems, same physical USB ports and same type of service. From what other readers are saying it seems like the manufacturer has a "physical" plug problem where it's not making a proper fit / connection. I've emailed the manufacture and have received NO response ... that's a bad sign right there!!!!!!! Until this problem gets fixed I'd stay away from this product.Works as intended.
