From the Manufacturer Announcing the CardScan Executive 700, the latest generation of the world's best-selling business card reader. It's half the size and weight of the previous Executive and far more powerful. Imagine scanning a business card in just two seconds. Finding contacts is even faster and easier, using a completely redesigned user interface. And the sleek new design looks great on your desk, in just half the space. CardScan Executive offers Corex's fastest scanning speed, full compatibility with every popular contact program and portable device, and advanced features like color scanning, storing your contacts on the Web, making fail-safe backups, and offering a contact information updating service. This scanner is fast and the software is very intelligently designed. The user interface is intuitive and the documentation is excellent. Both surpassed my expectations. These folks should write more software, perhaps expanding into the contact management field. ACT! could use their help! The reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the OCR leaves a bit to be desired sometimes. Standard fonts and white backgrounds work great, but as soon as a picture is in the background, or the background is dark and text is light, the OCR starts having trouble. This is understandable, and I wish it were a bit better. Customer support seems to be pretty good, well beyond my expectations as well. I sent an email to them suggesting an additional feature and within a couple of hours they responded saying that I can easily do what I want to do right now, and here's how to do it. Feedback at all, and that fast, really amazed me. So I rate this as a strong buy, but expect to have to check the accuracy of the OCR conversion on fancy cards.Great product. It does what it says, and does it well. Most cards are scanned and recognized perfectly, including ones with non-white backgrounds and ones printed vertically. The software has almost all the features I could want, like the "find duplicate cards" feature. (Because if you go to the same trade shows and see the same people, chances are you have more than a few duplicates in that pile of cards.)I do wish the scanner itself was a tad smaller. Or, for the price, I think it should have a feeder so it could scan a stack of cards at once, instead of hand-feeding each one... But it still works well and saves tons of time as it is.The CardScan does capture fields fairly well though it may make mistakes on about 4 or 5 cards of 10 - you must verify each cards info after it is input (not a big deal). My problem comes from the softwares inability to flag the newly inputted contacts for follow up - when I export/transfer them to my ACT! 2005 Database, I can't seperate them instantly from newly inputted cars and have to hunt them down - no big deal, but I find it's easier just ot input the data seperately anyway.HTHs. JOEI've seen and heard about the CardScan product line for years but never thought to buy one. Well, I started a new sales position a few weeks ago, making 20-30 calls each day. Those business cards pile up quickly but the CardScan fixes that real quick. Well over 95% of the cards I scan in get all the information transitioned to the program (you might have to do a little typing). This can allow you to do many other tasks such as address labels, FranklinQuest address books, letters, e-mails--you get the idea. I bought the more expensive unit that does color but the footprint on my desk is quite small and there's a travel case (free for me) that allows you to take it on the road. *****FIVE STARS *****The seller never got back to me when I asked him questions. The scanner can only scan black on white business cards. The product doesn't come with its driver, so you have to look for it by yourself and when you ask info they don't get back to you. This is a great product & I got a fantastic deal on it. Only problem is that the driver that comes with it is obsolete so it has to be downloaded online. I downloaded it to my work computer and it worked fine. By the time I tried to download it on my home computer, the link was no longer available. So, I can only use it at work.I have had a great help scanning the bussines card that the buyer give me. Now I don't have to dedicate a large time typing all the the business card. Only I scan it the sync with my outlook and finally I scan with my smartphone.I recently upgraded to the latest Card Scan Executive 700. I have installed and reinstalled several times but cannot get it to function. After checking the internet I have discovered I am not the only one with this complaint. I have Windows XP professional and there seems to be an issue. I am awaiting a response from the Card Scan tech site. I simply can't recommend this product. My first card scan was a piece of cake and worked unfailingly for several years. I'm disappointed that it is more difficult now than my original card scanner!
